Virgin Atlantic Airways, usually known as Virgin Atlantic, is the
airline of Richard Branson's Virgin Group. Virgin Atlantic began in
1984 when Branson, famous for heading Virgin Records announced the
arrival of a new value for money airline of high quality to begin,
purchasing British Atlantic Airways. By 1990 had flown over 1,000,000
people and today has become the second largest long haul airline in the
United Kingdom, Virgin Atlantic operates long-haul routes between
London and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Australia. Cities include Antigua, Barbados, Boston, Cape Town, Delhi,
Dubai, Grenada, Havana, Hong Kong, New York, Johannesburg, Lagos,

Virgin Atlantic is one of the most
luxurious airlines in the world, they were the first airline to offer
individual TVs to their business class passengers. Upper Class suites
are equipped with the largest fully flat bed of any airline in business
class, larger than many found in first class of other airlines. The
seats are wider than most other major airlines. There are also
ottoman's which double as guest seats. There are a maximum of 4 upper
class suites across the width of the cabin (as opposed to the usual 8)
providing personal access to the aisle. In Premium Economy each seat is
wider, bigger and includes headrests and leg rests. There are also
dedicated check in counters for those in Premium economy. Across all
classes, each seat is fitted with a seatback TV with a wide choice of
channels, movies, comedy, sports, kid's shows and drama. On top of this
there is also video on-demand. On many of these systems a video game
console is integrated into the system, with up to 35 different games
guaranteeing each flight no matter how long will not be one of boredom.
In Economy all passengers receive a complimentary amenity kit, this is
a trendy back pack with novelties like postcards, earplugs, socks, and
lip balm. All passengers can receive pre-flight glass of champagne and
an extensive range of newspapers.
